Vehicle Description
For 1965, Plymouth had moved to rebrand the popular Belvedere I and
adjusted the name ever so slightly with a "II" which was
essentially the now-full-size Fury and Sport Fury with a hardtop as
they shared the same wheelbase of 116 inches. The Belvedere II was
also now available in a convertible body style as well as wagons
which stuck to the Detroit markets formula of success and continued
their optional 2-door or 4-door variations for both. For 1966, the
popular Plymouth Belvedere was restyled with a cleaner set of lines
with subtle but definitive styling. Body choices essentially
remained the same, with a new standard engine, the 318-cid V-8 was
now the power plant to move these beautifully designed rides
smoothly down the road.
The 1966 Belvedere II offered for sale here is finished in blue
over a blue cloth interior. The car remains in very original
condition and shows well for its age. It is powered by its 225 ci
slant 6 engine paired with an automatic transmission. The car has
been in the family for the last 45 years. In 2018 it had power
front disc brakes installed. The original carburetor has recently
been rebuilt and at this time it was given a new water pump, new
battery, new belts and hoses, new exhaust, plugs and wires and
tires. This is a great entry level cruiser with room for the whole
family.
