this car.
Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this absolutely
spectacular 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible. This
Eldorado was recently treated to an extremely high quality
restoration. The car has a brand new stunning white paintjob,
brilliantly refinished chrome, and a brand new beautiful tan
interior and top. It features excellent fit and finish, it runs
great, and is a pleasure to drive.
Please note that this Cadillac is "numbers matching," the engine
number listed on the tag in the driver's door jam, 5662073179, is
also stamped on the engine block and pictured in this ad. This same
number is also correctly stamped on the right frame rail.
This is an excellent opportunity to own a very rare and highly
desirable classic Cadillac. Only 2,150 Eldorado Biarritz's were
made for 1956. The market on 1950's Cadillac convertible is very
hot right now, especially for premium examples like this car. One
could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the
purchase price in years to come. There is no way someone could
purchase a similar Cadillac and restore it to this level of quality
for anything near our asking price. Please peruse all of the
photos, video, and other information below to get a true sense of
how exceptionally nice this Cadillac really is.
As a side note, this Eldorado is not a dealer auction vehicle. We
hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Classics come from
owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the
vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and
encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car
inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We
photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel
confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the
Cadillac, just give us a call.
Exterior
The white exterior is in beautiful condition. As one can see in the
photos the finish has dazzling gloss, deep shine, and smooth
finish. The wheels and center caps are in excellent condition with
a nice finish and no curb rash. The Coker Classic wide whitewall
tires are brand new with less than 20 miles on them. The chrome
looks great and has a brilliant finish. The soft-top is in brand
new condition with no stain, rips, holes, or frayed edges. The top
itself operates well and power top functions smoothly. The entire
operation of the power top going up and down can be viewed in the
video. Please note that this Eldorado features a hard parade boot
to cover the top while it is down. As one can see in the many
photos of the underside, this Cadillac is totally solid with
absolutely no rust; the bottom of the car is very clean.
This Eldorado looks just as good in person as it does in the
photos.
Interior
The tan interior of the Cadillac looks utterly splendid. The
quality of the workmanship and materials is top-notch. The seats
are in like new condition with no wear. The carpet is also in "like
new" condition with no major stains, rips, or holes. The dash is in
terrific condition with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. The
interior chrome and bright work is in great shape. The original AM
radio sounds good and even the power antenna works as one can see
in the video. The door panels look excellent. This car has not been
smoked in; there are obviously no burn marks or aroma of cigarettes
what-so-ever.
The trunk is very clean, highly detailed and trimmed in the same
tan carpet, and complete with the matching full size spare tire,
matching rim, jack, jack handle, jack base, and bumper hook.
The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the
photos.
Mechanical
This Cadillac Eldorado seems to be in good mechanical condition.
The numbers matching 365ci V8 engine starts every time, runs well,
and idles smooth. The car drives nicely and just floats down the
road. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on
the highway up to about 70mph, braking to stoplight, and going
through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations and
the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and
do not pull to one side or the other. The transmission shifts
smoothly throughout the power band. The horn works as do all the
exterior lights, interior lights, power top, and even the power
antenna. There are a few items not functional such as the blower
for the heater, temp gauge, wipers, and clock. Not enough can be
said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this Cadillac,
especially with the top down on a beautiful day.
Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean, detailed, and
correct as one can see in the photos with the dual-quad carburetor
setup and the correct original air cleaner and valve covers. Both
Carter WCFB carburetors are also correct and each still has the
original triangular metal ID tag attached to it. The front
carburetor shows the correct 2373S part number with a "B6" date
code. The "B" indicates February and the "6" is the last digit of
the calendar year, 1956. The rear carburetor shows the correct
2372S part number with an "A6" date code. "A" is January so the
rear carburetor is dated from January of 1956.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz is in marvelous
condition. This is truly an investment grade classic. As stated
above, there is absolutely no way someone could restore a Cadillac
to anywhere near this level for any amount near our asking
price.
The excellent restoration, the great attention to detail, and the
beautiful color combination make this car especially important and
difficult to duplicate. This Cadillac always gets a ton of
attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the
vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. One
could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for
more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
Thank you for looking and please email or call with any
