1968 AMC AMX for sale. Motorcar Classics is pleased to offer this
rare and stunning 1968 AMC AMX Coupe is featured in #47A Rally
Green with White stripes and Green interior featuring a handsome
set of Black sport bucket seats. This car has benefited from a
complete nut amp; bolt restoration that was done 8-10 years ago,
but still presents with only the slightest sign of use. The AMX was
AMCs entry into the compact sports coupe arena and differed from
its GM, Ford and MoPar competition by virtue of its short wheelbase
and two-seat configuration. Our car has the largest motor
available, the 390 CI V8 with a 4 BBL carb at 315 HP. The car was
upgraded to a slick-shifting 5-speed manual gearbox and tilt
steering column. It has power steering and brakes, and rides on a
set of black 5-spoke wheels with polished lips and 215/65 R15
tires. This is an original AC car, and the AC system was upgraded
with Vintage Air components including an efficient rotary
compressor. The car includes the original manuals. On the road this
AMX is fast and well-sorted. It is the nicest example we have seen.
