for all to consider. This highly original 2002 was purchased new at
Mt. Vernon Datsun - BMW of Alexandria Virginia on September 1,
1972. The car came delivered nearly precisely as you see it here
finished in Granada Red over Black interior. This is a rare factory
sunroof car, it is highly original having just one exterior repaint
in its original factory color, the car has never been disassembled,
and it retains an outstanding core structure. The car is powered by
BMW's proven 2.0 liter inline 4 cylinder engine, 4-speed manual
transmission and rear-wheel drive.
The interior remains original including original seats, original
dash, and gauges, original headliner, all original panels, original
shifter and console, original glass, etc. It appears that the
carpet may have been replaced at one time and the original steering
wheel has been upgraded to a sport style wheel. All the windows,
including the vent windows and sunroof, operate as they should.
The exterior paint is vibrant and shows excellent throughout. The
panel fitment is factory and remains outstanding. The chrome, trim
emblems, hubcaps, and roof rack remain unrestored, complete in
excellent original condition. Inside the trunk reveals the original
trunk flooring, original paint on the painted surfaces and
underneath the flooring, the original jack and spare remain. Under
the hood remains excellent. The compartment is not freshly
detailed, however, it is extremely clean and complete. All factory
wiring and hose configuration remain intact and are free from
"freelance" electrical work. The original body number is clearly
stamped on the passenger side fender, and all tags and
specification decals remain in place. The underside of this BMW
remains original and excellent. The entire original body and
structure of this 2002 is amazing. Mechanically, the car starts
with no issue and is wonderful to drive.
The BMW 2002 delivers the purest of driving experiences, a
car/driver connection that only a few vehicles can achieve. Its
simple but elegant design and driver characteristics make it one of
the hottest European collectible today. A highly original car in
this condition leaves nothing to hide and is a must consider.

book.
