Wow, this 55 is exceptional! Really, it is. Claimed to have 23,700
miles. Only 2 owners. We have the original invoice when it was
bought new.
EXTERIOR: The body is incredible. I do believe it has original rust
free, damage free metal. This car is laser beam straight from every
angle. The gaps are like a new Mercedes. Bottom of the doors,
fenders, wheel well lips are clean dry metal. Doors click shut like
a new car. The paint is a mirror. You can shave in the reflection.
I did not see any flaw- no bubbles, no cracks. Chrome looks new,
stainless is straight and polished. Glass is all crystal clear. Has
vintage Torque Thrust wheels with BFG tires. Weatherstrips are like
new.
INTERIOR: Very nicely redone. The seats are still firm and have
been reupholstered in a good looking 2 tone gray. Door panels are
done to match. The rear shelf is upholstered and stitched. The gray
cloth headliner and visors are excellent. Carpet was replaced, has
reproduction floormats. The dash is real nice- painted 2 tone gloss
and satin black. All of the knobs, lenses, heater controls, mirror,
window cranks etc are excellent.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very clean, tidy and proper. The motor is
spotless. All the components like air cleaner, wires, hoses,
brackets, hinges, radiator are mint. Has optional oil filter. The
motor runs so smooth, so easy to maintain too. The engine bay is
perfectly clean metal with a satin finish.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean metal. It has been carpeted wall to wall.
Has Jack and a brand new tire on a rally rim. The jamb and under
the trunk lid are glossy, new weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: Appears to have rock solid original metal. The floors,
braces, rockers and frame are clean. Upgraded with disc brakes at
all four wheels. Also has sway bars. Everything looks great. It's
been cleaned and painted. Front suspension and steering, fuel tank
and lines, shocks etc all are proper. E-brake system is complete.
Bottom of the motor is spotless. Has 3-speed trans.
This is the perfect car to drop a performance driveline in.
Although it functions soooo good, you may want to leave it alone.
It runs, sifts, drives like a new car. You can search the world and
won't find a better body!
