Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this Stunning 1978 Factory W72 4 Speed Trans AM which has been nicely restored with low "Actual" miles of 63,291. This documented Trans Am comes with PHS documents showing it was a factory Gold 400/4 speed with desired Fisher T - Tops. This special TA features a beautiful professional repaint in factory Solar Gold , a fully restored Camel vinyl interior, the original factory 4 speed manual transmission, and PHS documents. This Trans Am has no visible rust anywhere and is very solid with great lines and gaps and was rust proofed when new. There is no bubbling or cracked paint anywhere on the body. The underside is original and very solid with now rust anywhere. There are no rust concerns anywhere on the frame, floors, rockers, trunk, or tail panel. The underside was heavily undercoated when new which allowed this TA to remain rust free. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Solar Gold (code 50) over Camel vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above and included PHS docs. These special low production 4 Speed Trans Am's are some of the most sought after collectible TA's on the market. They continue to increase in value and desirability.
Exterior
The Gold exterior is in beautiful fully restored condition. This Trans Am features a repaint in Factory Solar Gold paint which is in excellent condition and shows very well. This TA has all original sheet metal with no patches or repairs and the decals were replaced after the repaint and look like new on the car. The paint is in wonderful condition and has a high gloss and smooth touch and there are no signs of visible rust anywhere on the body or underneath and both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking paint. There is no bubbling paint or any signs of rust on the body and the metal is all original sheet metal with no signs or rust repairs. The underside is honest and rust free. This TA was rust proofed when new. The BF Goodrich tires are brand new with full tread left and the 8" Snowflake wheels are brand new with new center caps and lug nuts. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in great condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with an original style trunk mat.
Interior
The Camel vinyl interior of this Trans Am has been fully restored. The seat covers are in like new condition and were recently replaced. The front seat covers still have some shipping compression wrinkles in them which should come out over time. The carpet has been replaced and is like new. The dash is in good condition with a full dash cap. The dash bezel is original and looks beautiful in the car and is in good condition. This TA currently does not have stereo. The dash stereo area has not been cut. An original style radio could easily be added. The door panels are like new and were recently replaced and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner was just replaced and is like new. The package tray was just replaced and is like new. The exterior lights and gauges work as they should. The horn works as does the cigarette lighter. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever and look how clean that ashtray is. The wipers and blower motor are not working.
Mechanical
This Trans Am is in good mechanical condition with low miles of 63,291 Actual Miles. The original 4 speed manual transmission is still in the car with matching numbers. The engine is a replacement Pontiac 400 from 1972 with a YS engine block code. True dual exhaust added which gives this TA a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds, and the exhaust tips were just added. This TA runs and drives well. In the video one can observe this car running and driving nicely. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs great. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. New fuel filter, new temperature sending unit, new oil pressure sending unit, new speedometer cable were all just added. Also, the engine is very clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay and enhances performance.
