This rare matching numbers 1968 Honda Z50 has been correctly restored to show quality standards. The Honda Z50A was the second generation of Honda’s Z50 series of minibikes. Though its predecessor, the Z50M, was available in Europe and Japan a few years previously, in 1968, the Z50A-KO “Hard Tail”, sometimes referred to as the “High Bar” was the first of the Z50 series to be released to the American market. Upon its release, this bike was considered to be a significant leap in technology in comparison to other minibikes on the market at the time. This was partly because of its efficient 49cc four-stroke overhead cam engine with semiautomatic transmission. Since this was the first year for the Honda Z50 in America is highly collectable among Z50 enthusiasts. This Z50 was professionally restored and completed in 2019. It was correctly restored throughout. It sports the correct color combination of Candy Red and White. Some of the new parts include handlebars, grips, cables, front suspension, rear sprockets, chain, hub bearing and brake shoes. It has new tires and tubes. The seat is original. The frame, wheels, hubs, front fender and rear fender were powder coated. All of the nuts, bolts and axles were re-zinced. The engine was vapor blasted. It was a new ignition, condenser, points, carb kit and seals. The engine is matching numbers and runs great. This is the first time it’s been marketed for sale since completion. This is a great opportunity to purchase a rare matching numbers 1968 Honda Z50 that was correctly restored and runs great. This Z50 was recently serviced and detailed which is documented with an invoice that is included.
