Vehicle Description
This 1981 Chevrolet K-10 4x4 looks like it rolled off the assembly
line, only to be transported from the early-'80s to the present to
handle whatever challenges you might want to throw its way. It's a
great looking truck - rugged and brimming with classic style - with
just the right amount of customization that pairs with thorough
road readiness both on and off the asphalt.
This rugged workhorse strikes a great balance, with a configuration
largely remaining in original form that's been augmented with a
steel cowl hood that sits over a newly refurbished front grille. A
prominent 6" lift has been blended into the mix to not only up curb
appeal but also provide plenty of wheel clearance while navigating
rugged terrain. The metallic gray draped over the exterior received
a freshening up not long ago, and is really looking sharp, showing
a nice, deep shine and smooth texture. The entire collection of
chrome on display is in good shape and new bumpers take their place
both fore and aft and, with its array of badging razor sharp, this
vintage Chevy is one vibrant classic. Its exterior alignment looks
very precise - the gaps around the doors and hood are tight and
even - and clear glass, accompanied by fresh rubber seals,
surrounds the cabin.
The interior is in good form here, nicely refurbished with an array
of entirely new components while retaining its factory appearance.
Just as is the case with the exterior, the burgundy bench seat
looks just as clean as it did when this truck began its service,
with a combination of cloth and vinyl over its surface showing no
real ill effects from wear and sitting over plenty of padding
underneath to make even the longest of road trips comfortable. Up
front, the dash area is in good order, with a set of factory gauges
in the instrument cluster that look surprisingly clear and function
as intended and a fresh dash pad spanning the width of the cabin.
Take a look in back and you'll see the bed area is protected by a
liner that's been color-matched to the exterior - a nice finishing
touch. When cruising behind the wheel of this classic, you'll have
no trouble staying comfortable, as a new blower motor is on board
to send cool or warm air as needed into the cockpit.
You don't often come across vintage pickups that run with the
reassuring strength that this Chevy possesses. It's propelled by a
350 cubic inch ATK crate engine that's been armed with Pro Comp
aluminum heads and is fed by a 4-barrel carb and exhales into a
pair of aftermarket headers to minimize backpressure. This very
capable powerplant is paired with a 3-speed automatic TH400
transmission that was rebuilt not long ago and runs through its
gears with precision - the rear end has also been recently rebuilt,
so this is a very fresh drivetrain. Power steering and power brakes
provide the road manners you're looking for in everyday driving,
and with a simple flick of the lever sitting inside on the
transmission tunnel, 4-wheel drive is activated - this truck has
plenty of wheel clearance to take advantage of everything the road
less travelled might offer. This clean, able-bodied pickup rolls on
a set of 15" Rally wheels outfitted with 35x12.5R15 Toyo Open
Country tires and sits on a rock-solid foundation - take a glance
below and you'll see its undercarriage is as clean can be.
Whether you're looking for a daily driving truck with classic curb
appeal or want to create some great memories off the asphalt, this
