Beautiful four-door sedan, appearance matches the VIN and Engine Block numbers. 1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport, 4-door hardtop, 283 engine, power glide, with 4 barrel carburetor. Restoration prior to 2000 included engine rebuild - very few miles (24,000) since. Many original parts and features. Added dual exhaust and bullets on front. This car is very popular in parades and car shows. Lots of fun! 2 tone/India Ivory over Canyon Coral. Black and Silver trim and interior. Original headliner and sun visors.
My husband graduated from high school in 1956 and always admired the 1956/57/58 Chevrolets. In 2000 I bought this car for him for his birthday. We bought it from a couple in Greeley CO who had "found" it in a barn, where it had been for 15 years or so. They had the car rebuilt (do not know the extent), the engine rebuilt, body repainted, and new upholstery. We added the dual exhaust, had the door posts rewelded, and had some of the trim work touched up. A local retired Chevy mechanic has maintained the engine. Mostly, we have enjoyed driving it in parades, getting waves and smiles when we go out for ice cream, going to car shows and even lending it out for dads to drive their daughters to their weddings. Now that I have joined my husband in retirement we are traveling more in our motorhome and hate to see this lovely beauty languish in our garage. So, it is time to find her a new home where she will be loved and taken out for ice cream at the local Dairy Queen.
