Cincy Classic Cars is very proud to offer this 1981 Factory Y84 Special Edition 4 Speed Trans AM which still retains its original numbers matching engine and transmission with low "Actual" miles of 18,280.  This documented Y84 Trans Am is very rare being only 1 of 932 ever built in its original configuration with a 305 Factory Chevy Engine and 4 Speed manual transmission.  This SE TA has only had one owner from new and was garaged every day of its life and is nearly 100% original.  This special TA features very nice factory original Starlight Black paint with original decals, an original fantastic medium doeskin vinyl interior, the original factory drive line, and the factory build sheet, numerous dealer documents and brochures, and recent service records.  This Trans Am has no visible rust anywhere and is very solid with great lines and gaps.  There is no bubbling or cracked paint anywhere on the body.  The underside is original and not covered up with cheap spray paint.  There are no rust concerns anywhere on the frame, floors, rockers, trunk, or tail panel.  This Trans Am is finished in the most beautiful and most desirable color combinations of Starlight Black (code 19) over medium Doeskin (code 62R) vinyl interior.  This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured below and included Build Sheet.  These special low production SE 4 Speed Trans Am's are some of the most sought after collectible TA's on the market.  They continue to increase in value and desirability.  The very low miles are documented on several titles each stating the miles as "Actual."  The carfax also states the miles as "Actual" and several receipts have mileage accounts.  Low mile original cars are always the most sought after collectible cars available.

Exterior

The Starlight Black exterior is in beautiful unrestored factory original condition.  This Trans Am features all original factory Starlight Black paint with all original factory decals and pin stripping.  No panels have been touched up and the sheet metal is original.  The paint is in great condition with no signs of visible rust anywhere on the body or underneath and both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking or faded paint.  There is no bubbling paint or any signs of rust on the body and the metal is all original sheet metal with no signs or rust repairs.  The underside is honest and rust free and not covered up with undercoating or cheap spray paint.  There are several factory markings and tags throughout the underside of this TA as noted in the photos.  There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos.  The tires have great tread left and are correctly sized 225/70/15 and the 8" original wheels are in great shape with excellent original center caps and lug nuts.  All weather stripping and window sweeps are original and in excellent condition.  Door seals, t top seals, trunk seal, and shaker seal are in great shape.  Trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire and jack, with a the original correct felt trunk mat and the original t top storage bags.  The spare tire appears to have never been removed from the trunk.  The speakers are the original factory speakers.

Interior

The Medium Doeskin standard vinyl interior of this Trans Am is original and in excellent overall condition.  The original seat covers are like new with no noticeable wear, no rips, no seam splits, or fading.  These are not replacements but factory original covers.  These are some of the best original seat covers I have ever seen in a Trans Am from this era.  The carpet is original with no major stains, rips, or holes.  The original dash is in superb condition with no cracks, no warping, and no fading.  The dash bezel is original and in excellent condition.
The original AM/FM Cassette stereo looks great in the car but the radio is not currently working but the cassette player works as it should and sounds great.  The original stereo has never been removed and the factory wiring is still in tact and no wiring has ever been altered.  The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact.  The headliner is loose in places but still serviceable.  The package tray is original and in excellent shape.  All interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should including the clock and cigarette lighter.  The horn, cassette player, wipers, and blower motor on all speeds works.  The warning buzzers and lights all work and so does the blinker indicator lights.  Everything works on this car including the reverse lights.  Reverse lock out linkage is still in place from the factory.  Having everything work on this car is truly unique and hard to come by.  This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever and the ash tray looks brand new.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in excellent mechanical condition with very low miles of 18,280.  Most importantly the original engine and original transmission are still in the car with matching numbers.  We have driven this TA numerous times and it drives and acts like new in every way.  It does everything the way its intended to per factory design.  I have full confidence in the car and its a true pleasure to drive.  New Dynomax mufflers were recently installed from the cat. back and gives this TA a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds.  The factory catalytic converter is still in tact and in the factory position.  The emergency brake works as it should and holds the car well.  We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it does  not run hot, it rides tight, and is always a joy to drive.  The smiles, thumbs up, and attention you get driving this car is unlike any classic car I have driven.  In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs very well.  This Trans Am is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds.  There is no smoke when starting or driving the car.  It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs excellent.  The brakes do not pull and stop as they should and were recently serviced.  The radiator and thermostat were recently changed.  Also, the engine bay is very unmolested with several tags and factory markings still in place as noted in the photos.  Several hoses have factory stamps on them still.  The engine is clean and very factory correct.  The spark plug wires are original along with numerous lines and vacuum hoses.  There is a lot of originality under the hood and throughout the car.  This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay and improves performance and reduces weight.
