Indiana automaker Auburn is most famous for their great V-12 and
supercharged eight-cylinder models of the Classic Era, but in their
final three years of production, 1934 through 1936, they also
produced a six-cylinder model of reasonable size and sturdy
engineering. The Auburn Six was built by Lycoming and produced 85
brake horsepower from 210 cubic inches; it was available in many of
the same attractive body designs as the eight-cylinder models,
including the four-door phaeton sedan, but was distinguished by
different trim, including the bumpers and headlights.
The very rare 1936 Model 654 offered here is an original
Portuguese-delivery example, sold new by the Vacuum Oil Company,
Auburn importers in Lisbon. Having received recent restoration
work, it is finished in a charming period colour similar to the
Auburn Cigarette Cream, with brown upholstery and a black fabric
top. Much of the interior hardware and finishes appear original,
including the dashboard with its metric gauges.
Undoubtedly one of very few Auburns supplied to Portugal and of
fewer still to remain there, this is a fascinating American antique
and should be highly rewarding to own.

cc); estava dispon�vel com muitas das carro�arias utilizada nos
Auburn de oito cilindros, inclu�ndo o Four Door Phaeton Sedan, mas
distinguia-se pelos restantes acess�rios, como os p�ra-choques e os
far�is.
O muito raro Model 654 de 1936 aqui apresentado � um exemplar
originalmente destinado a Portugal, vendido novo pela Vacuum Oil
Company, importadores da Auburn em Lisboa. Tendo recentemente
recebido interven��es de restauro, revela-se numa charmosa
combina��o crom�tica da �poca, semelhante ao creme Auburn Cigarette
Cream, com interior forrado a castanho e uma capota de lona. Muitos
dos materiais e acabamentos do interior parecem originais,
inclu�ndo o painel de instrumentos, com os seus mostradores
exibindo unidades m�tricas.
Sendo, sem duvida, um dos poucos Auburn vendidos novos em Portugal,
torna-se ainda mais in�dito que ali permane�a. Trata-se de um
artefacto industrial americano, cuja propriedade ser� certamente
