The Jaguar XJ8 was a full-size luxury sedan manufactured by Jaguar Cars in Birmingham, England, featuring a AJ-V8 294 hp engine, a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission and independent, self-leveling rear suspension. The 2004 XJ8 was evolutionary in design and revolutionary in that the body and chassis were all-aluminum.
This year’s model came standard with more equipment than XJs of the past, including leather upholstery, alloy wheels and air conditioning. Even cooler, cutting-edge standards for that time were rain-sensing wipers, CD player, cruise control and rear parking sensors.
For an even sleeker design, the door mirrors and handles were the same color as the body. The radiator grille, windscreen and rear window surrounds, boot lid and rain gutters were chromed, while the window frames remained matte black. The interior wood trim was walnut, and the rear badging added a special touch.
This stunning vehicle has been maintained in excellent condition since purchased by its current owner in 2011. At that time, a pre-purchase inspection was completed by a Jaguar expert who still maintains the car today. All invoices for service since 2011 come with the car.
Everything is original on this Jag, the platinum exterior has never had a paint touch-up, and the luxurious dove gray leather interior is in amazing condition. In fact, the car has not been driven in the winter and has been stored in a climate-controlled environment. The air conditioning blows ice-cold, and there are four Pirelli tires that have less than 2,000 miles on them. All are testament to the XJ8’s superior care, as is the included clean CARFAX report.
A unique upgrade is a professionally installed sound system by Auto Sound. In addition to the wonderful AM/FM stereo with a 6 CD changer, there is a Sirius XM radio system with an iPod charging dock. Look at the pictures; the new system was placed next to the center console, and the leather covering matches the interior to look as if it was factory-installed.
This Jag sedan is the best we have seen: no issues, a sleek design and unequaled British luxury. Maintained in this condition, it will give the new owner many years of driving pleasure.
