Vehicle Description
One of the iconic success stories of the muscle car era was
Pontiac's GTO Judge. The GTO had already achieved legendary status,
hailed as the first muscle car and immortalized in the song "Little
GTO" by Ronnie and The Daytonas. But the image of a '69 Judge in
Carousel Red (aka "Judge Orange") is one of the most enduring of
the era. The great thing is, the package wasn't just all show and
no go. Along with the tri-color graphics, the Judge Package
consisted of Pontiac's mighty Ram Air III or optional Ram Air IV
power plants guaranteeing at least a hefty 366 horsepower. On the
commercials, Paul Revere and the Raiders sang about the Hurst
T-shifter "three speeds or four," and the "60-inch spoiler
airfoil." You also got wider tires and rallye wheels minus the
superfluous trim rings. The entire package added a mere $337.02 to
the base price of the car. A prudent investment indeed. Open the
hood and you'll indeed find the clever system to direct cool air to
the four barrel. And this excellent example has the four speed. The
engine and paint have been freshened up along with new glass for a
strong presentation. Power steering and power brakes enhance
civility. The exposed headlamps were part of the no-nonsense
attitude of the package. The only obvious deviation from regular
Judge protocol is the installation of a Kenwood stereo judiciously
hidden in the glove compartment. Turn the key and this Judge speaks
with a note of authority. The sound of this car's 400 cubic inch
Pontiac motor indeed commands respect. Max Motive is proud to
present this truly authentic icon of high performance automotive
history.
