Overview
This car will be one of the finest GTV's in the country when completed by the Roadster Salon restoration team. It is only a few weeks away from being finished, but ready for contract. The car is a rust free California plated original. It was a solid driver in excellent condition when it arrived. All assembled photos are of the car as it was received. Interior and exterior were in very good condition, although to a lesser standard than a typical fully restored Roadster Salon finished product. Due to the car's rarity and high projected value, we decided to put the car though our full process.
Exterior condition
Many shops simply paint over the old body work. Roadster decided to strip the car to bare metal as shown, and repaint the car in the original Alfa red. This arduous process assures that nothing is hidden by the old paint, and any imperfections can be properly addressed. As the pictures show in detail, this was a $12K plus affair, with the car fully stripped, disassembled and carefully blocked prior to painting. No expense was spared on materials, with two coats of paint and four coats of clear applied. The finished result is spectacular. Various chrome and trim pieces were also upgraded to a higher standard.
Interior condition
The interior was evaluated for condition and originality. A new dash and headliner was ordered from Italy and will be installed prior to delivery, along with new carpets. Other interior items needing to be refreshed have also been addressed, including the seats.
Mechanical condition
Mechanically, there was significant work done by the previous owner. The car runs and drives well with no signs of abuse or any immediate maintenance needs. However, per Roadster Salon policy, the car will be full inspected by our team prior to delivery, with any incorrect or marginal details addressed. Roadster Salon's exclusive warranty is included with the car.
Market review
The ALfa GTV is a rapidly appreciating asset that will only continue to increase in value. Current NADA value for a top GTV is $67,000. This figure is a guideline, and does not necessarily apply to a fully restored car with no rust history (like this one). While already rare, dry California GTV's with a restoration pedigree can sell for much more. Our price is reflective the car's condition, Roadster's warranty and backing.
