You'd expect to pay handsomely for a 1979 Chevrolet K5 Blazer that
has a great vintage look and the V8 power to still get the job
done. But this cool convertible 4x4 really does offer all you want,
and does it for an obtainable price.
There are a lot less of these round headlight K5s running around
these days. So, the classic Chevy front end really gives this one
extra distinction. Of course, what's really grabbing everyone's
attention is the paint. The Hawaiian Blue and Frost White is a
great color combo, and it was refreshed later in life so you get
some nice extra luster in the sunshine. The two-tone has a
well-defined boarder thanks to the premium trim that gives this an
upper-class look. Plus, it coordinates nicely with the white wheels
and white fiberglass top. Bright chrome bumpers, wide tow mirrors,
and running board complete the first-class look. So while this is a
tough 4x4, it's also one attractive total package.
The first thing that you'll notice inside is how this is built to
be long-haul comfortable. The seats are all covered in a cushy
velour. Up front are high-back buckets with a cup holder center
console in-between. The classic Chevrolet steering wheel is on a
tilt column, and these Blazers share the Silverado's dash that
wraps around the driver. There are also nice details like wood trim
on the doors and power locks. The rear side windows slide open with
ease, and the back glass is power operated. Of course, your rear
favorite breezes will come from removing the fiberglass top
entirely and enjoying a convertible SUV.
Under the hood is Chevy's famous 350 cubic-inch V8. It looks clean
and tidy because that bold blue block is freshly painted. You can
also tell by the belts, wires, and hoses that this has received the
right care over the years. The V8 inhales deeply though a proper
Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor. This power is great in a
go-anywhere 4x4 that has a tall stance and two-speed transfer case
for the best off-road performance. But a good Blazer like this has
the right features to tackle the street or trail. That's why it has
great anytime driving features like the TH350 three-speed automatic
transmission, power steering, and power brakes with discs up
front.
This classic K5 looks sharp and feels sharp on the road. But you're
not the only one who recognizes a good deal, so don't miss out.
