Vehicle Description
1932 Ford 5 Window Coupe
They've been building cars for 71 years since Henry Ford introduced
the body style that followed the Model T's 19-year run and the
Model A's 4-year stretch. It was in production for barely a year,
and yet to this day, no other car has been as popular among hot
rodders as it has. It is the car that appears more than any other
in hot rod enthusiast magazines. It is the car that has been
treated to literally every conceivable form of performance and
appearance modification. It is the car that appeared on the very
first cover of ROD & CUSTOM. It is the car that has appeared at
least once in every issue Hot Rod Magazine going back as far anyone
can remember. It is the car practically everybody immediately
thinks of when they hear the term "hot rod." We're talking about
the '32 Ford, known to you and me simply as the Deuce.
For consignment the iconic hot rod Deuce in 5 window form. This one
has been custom built from the ground up finishing a 1 1/2-year job
in 1999. All the best has been put in, and it shows and goes like
all the best has been put in!
Exterior
A chopped (3") Gibbon body, with a custom chrome tilt out
windshield, Rootlieb hood, nerf bars front and rear, and all bathed
in PPG Green base coat/clear coat. Chrome is very nice in the form
of front and rear bumpers, and a wonderful grille up front, flanked
by dual old-style chromed headlights. Curving fenders, matching the
body color, frame the wheels. and come together at a running board
for easy in and out on both sides. Yellow painted steel wheels with
trim rings and dog dishes are wrapped in wide whites.
Interior
Custom to say the lease with conveniences added. Noted upfront is a
body matching front dash which has a smattering of Auto Meter
gauges all lined up across the center. A Kenwood AM/FM/Cassette and
a hidden 6-disc CD player in the nicely finished trunk are fronted
by a banjo steering wheel. Vintage air and heat have been added,
and power windows now make your life easier, as that cranking is so
pedestrian! Door panels are ultra-suede in camel color, and the
bench seat emulates that between the doors. These have a Hurst
shifter in the middle. Cruise control, a tilt wheel, and
intermittent wipers bring this rod up to date. A shout out to the
trunk also finished off in ultra-suede, smoooooooth.
Drivetrain
A GT-40 Racing Ford 302ci crate engine with SVO aluminum heads has
been fitted into the engine bay. Three 2-barrel Holley carbs grace
the top of the HPC coated intake and headers. A T-5 manual
transmission with a Lakewood bell housing run power back to a 9"
Currie rear with 3.50 gears.
Undercarriage
A TCI chassis holds all this beautifully painted and shiny steel
that has no runs drips or errors within a mile of it. Very clean
and well done. A chrome 4" dropped axle, Wilwood 4-wheel disc
brakes, and an impressive polished stainless exhaust will have
people literally staring at the undercarriage it is that well
done.
Drive-Ability
Starts right up and begins growling immediately. Move that Hurst
shifter to 1st gear, let the clutch out and the horses begin to
release as you put your riding boots into it. It handles nicely, is
a great cruiser, and all the conveniences added work flawlessly.
Seats are "ultra" comfortable, and this car can make some nice
noise.
Meticulous build attention, some of the finest parts, great paint,
many conveniences and we have one of the nicest turnkey deuce
coupes that has graced our halls in a while. Hard to find many
faults on this build, and hard to resist making a solid buy that
will yield years of enjoyment. This car comes with plenty of
awards, and another set of American Racing Torqueflite wheels and
black wall tires.
