Why This Car Is Special
The 2005 Harley-Davidson F-250 Super Duty we have here at Skyway
Classics, is a bad boy with manners. It is a classy factory custom
that Ford and Harley-Davidson have formed an alliance with to
produce a very special-edition truck.
Mechanical
Our Harley is powered by the great 6.0L DI V8 TURBO-DIESEL "POWER
STROKE" engine that has the muscle to back up the attitude with 325
horsepower. The lower-profile tires also do a nice job of
tightening up the Ford's handling on the pavement but don't seem to
adversely affect ride quality. The ride isn't plush but the
Harley-Davidson is very accommodating for the long haul.
Interior
Inside the Harley you'll find two comfortable gray-leather-bound
captain's chairs with Harley logos that also create a
carbon-fiber-like pattern on the dash and trim panels, and the
white-faced round gauges mimic those on a contemporary
Harley-Davidson bike. Every Harley truck is numbered for
authenticity, with a serial number laser-engraved into an ID-plate
that is mounted on the center console. Of course, this truck has
all the power and comfort items you would expect in a
top-of-the-line Ford plush ride.
Exterior
To give the truck true custom appeal, Ford is applying a unique
wet-on-wet paint process that yields a super-slick black finish on
ours. It also has the ghost flames on the rockers, but they're done
right and are a nice one-off touch that really sets this truck
apart from the rest of the fleet. The flames disappear at some
viewing angles, just as ghost flames should. Naturally, there are
Harley-Davidson "bar and shield" logos in all the appropriate
places, complemented by a billet grille treatment, blacked-out
headlights, chrome tube steps, a big polished exhaust tip, and
polished 8-lug factory wheels.
Conclusion
The 2005 Ford Harley-Davidson truck we have here at Skyway Classics
merges the best hardware from two American icon, Ford and Harley
Davidson. What more could you ask for? As factory customs go, this
one delivers in spades.
