One family owned car before my purchase about six years ago. Since then, full restoration completed about three years ago, as described below, "with no corners cut". Great deal (selling much below my restoration costs) on a prestigious and fairly rare, essentially prewar car that will only increase in price.
This car has been fully restored to original, with great attention to detail (painted in the original Coral Blue / Vanderbilt Gray combination, interior was redone in the original pattern and color fabrics). The straight 8 282 engine was rebuilt (besides the usual rings, etc - the crankshaft was also redone). Everything else was gone through and rebuilt or replaced where needed (such as water/fuel pumps, carburetor, etc, etc). Some body work was also completed on an otherwise very solid body. Manual three on the tree shifts great. Car was kept on the original 6 volt electric. As always, any restoration can be further improved, so, a very demanding new owner would probably partly re-chrome (no pitting, just some small scratches) and fix some minor imperfections.
