Offered is a classic low mileage all original 1984 BMW 528e model in Delphin Blue exterior with tan leather interior. This car has the famous M20 low revving economical 6 cyl. motor that BMW made from 1982 to 1988. The car is completely stock with no mods (except for upgraded Pioneer radio, with original working OEM Pioneer cassette refurbished radio in box and original car wires maintained). All paint is original with only the most minor small blemishes/light 1 in hair line scratches in a few spots. No dents (there were a few very small parking dents that I had taken out with a professional dent wizard. Car was never in an accident. No clear coat peeling as the car has always been garaged and winter stored. Interior is almost like new with no seat tears or splitting. Carpets are like new and all original--no smokers and no kids. Power sun roof. Absolutely no rust anywhere--very rare, car was mostly driven in CA and never driven in OH winters. I am the 3rd original Owner and have had the car for 2 years. A number of important repairs were done as below and the car rides and accelerates like a BMW should, fast and responsive. Starts on a dime. This is a car only for the serious BMW lover and affecianos and serious buyer. With the work done, this car needs no further money to be spent on any repairs. • Brand new Michelin 14 in. original Tires with 50 miles on them from last Fall. Rims are stock BMW and in very good shape.
• All new tie rods and stabilizers
• New front and rear brakes, pads, and slotted pressure plate--also with 50 miles on them as done at same time and then the car was put to sleep for the winter in a covered garage. These upgrades alone cost me $750.
• Custom Pioneer radio installed, plus you get the original cassette radio which has been repaired with new tape belts to be functional. All original connection wires retained for back conversion. BMW original upgraded premium speakers and tweeters installed.
• All carpets were pressure cleaned--not a spot on them. Seems the car never saw any kids or smokers. Tan Leather seats are like new--no cracks, separations, or deep wrinkles. Also rare but attests to the low mileage.
• I had the instrument cluster cleaned and re-worked to confirm all grounds and added a new solid state (ProGrama) service interval board (removed the old NiCad battery board which causes leakages and board damage if not done). All instruments work with no typical "wandering needles".
• Clutch and shifting is typical BMW "butter smooth".
• Timing belt and tensioner replaced 500 miles ago--a must for this engine . (This alone will save you $700 in parts and labor).
• I bought a new on board computer "brain" for the car as when I got it the on board computer didn't work.
• I also bought a new auto door lock computer as it was also dead when I got the car--now functions perfectly.
• New front windshield and rubber seals installed last Fall with all new front and rear chrome strip inserts (they fade over time on this model). Done by a car window installer who is pickier than me! When the window came off, the metal lips were like new--no under seal rust or seepage at all!
This is a rare car in excellent shape.
