This is a rare car. Note to be confused with a ‘regular’ Roush 427R, this is one of 100 Trak-Pak editions built in 2008. The car absolutely lives up to its name; plain and simple, it is like driving a race car on the street.
Roush introduced the 427R model in 2007 as their top offering. However, to take it a step further, the Trak-Pak option was offered in 2008 only. Production was limited to 100 vehicles with only 18 in Vapor Silver paint, making this two-owner vehicle a very rare find. The car is in excellent condition with 23k miles. Note this was a $60,000 Mustang when new (original window sticker included).
Now $60k is a big figure but you definitely got something for your money. The suspension system was completely revamped to handle any road course. The new package includes adjustable front and rear shocks, special front and rear springs, front and rear stabilizer bars, front and rear jounce bumpers, and adjustable camber/caster plates. Front brakes feature 6-piston calipers, 14-inch 2-piece slotted rotors, and cooling ducts. Roush also ncluded high temperature brake fluid along with Hawk racing brake pads (though they did not install them on the car). The cooling system is improved with a high flow front grille and radiator cooling shields. Chassis rigidity is enhanced with a functional strut tower brace under the hood. Lots of great performance stuff but there is more.
The charcoal wheels are special 18” forged pieces while the Roush hood pins are functional. Other cosmetic enhancements from Roush include special Trak-Pak graphics and a unique 3-piece aero kit (front fascia, chin spoiler, and hood scoop) along with rear window louvers. And of course there’s the adjustable carbon fiber wing; this car has more than enough speed to put it to full use. Note this was an option on the Trak-Pak so not every example has it. This car has also been fitted with an APR carbon fiber splitter which seems the perfect complement to the rear wing.
The supercharged motor is rated by Roush at 435hp which is great, but this one includes an overdrive pulley and matching tune to bump that figure near 500. The supercharger sings beautifully as you climb through the rpm range. Under the hood you will also find a Steeda intake and Roush hood hinge assemblies. The motor is backed by a 5-speed transmission with a crisp short-throw shifter. There is a Roush performance exhaust as well. The acceleration is fantastic and tests the limits of the newer BF Goodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 tires.
The interior is in mint condition. It is highlighted by the two-tone leather sport seats with Jack Roush insignias. Trak-Pak features include a 3-gauge dash pod (oil temp, water temp, and boost) along with a programmable factory shift light, special aluminum pedals, and a fire extinguisher. The windows were tinted and a carbon fiber trim kit was also added to accent the interior. Two additional modifications are a Watson Racing 4-point bolt-in roll cage and a rear seat delete kit (the original rear seat is included).
The Trak-Pak is really a masterpiece. You won’t get many chances to own one, especially like this example with its low mileage and spotless Autocheck report. It includes the original window sticker and all factory manuals and tools (note the kit on the inside of the trunk lid). Don’t settle for just any performance Mustang when you can have this one.
