In 1962 Carroll Shelby introduced the Shelby Cobra - the most
desired American muscle car in history. In
1965 the evolution of the 289 into the 427 S/C redefined power and
performance. Today the 427 cobra features
Shelby parts in the construction and carries a genuine CSX serial
number and MSO with every chassis. In
addition, the Cobra offers modern technological advancements to
enhance safety and performance while
maintaining the classic look and feel of the original.
CSX4143 is the Real Deal! It is built by Shelby to his exact
specifications from the 1965 Shelby Team Guardsmen Blue with
Wimbledon White paint scheme with the rookie fender stripe. Each
hand crafted Aluminum bodied 427S/C is specially prepared by highly
skilled craftsmen. Built for and by the renowned Doug Pratt and
Chuck Spielman.
Just like the original race car, CSX4143's frame is constructed
using 4" round tube main rails. The 90" wheelbase carries a four
wheel independent suspension with dual A-arms and coil over shocks.
The original look is maintained with the 15" Halibrand Style pin
drive wheels, original style roll bar, custom made headers and side
pipes. A large aluminum radiator, rack and pinion steering, and
Salisbury style differential are also standard features. The
interior boasts of original gauges and an original style 15" wood
steering wheel.
CSX4143 was built with a period correct 427FE making 500HP and
mated to a Tremec TKO 5 Speed Manual Transmission. Lucas LeMans
Headlights, Aluminum Oil Cooler, Radiator, and 40 Gallon Fuel Tank,
Ceramic Coated Exhaust, Black Leather Dash, Door Panels, Kick
Panels, and Rear Panel, and Chrome Roll Bar finish off the look and
feel of this stunning Aluminum Cobra. A new Aluminum CSX4000 would
cost over $265,000 to duplicate.
With CA 1965 Ford Title and only 5,342 miles, CSX4143 is available
