Vehicle Description
Its lavish exterior instantly evokes images of a time when
prohibition was just being lifted and the World's Fair in Chicago
was celebrating "A Century of Progress." This 1933 Buick Series 57
Streetrod is a looker all right, and it also features smooth
running power under its lengthy hood, as well as a nice collection
of features you won't often find on cars in its niche. And, having
logged just a little over 8,000 miles since its build, it offers
the promise of plenty of future fun filled miles.
This generously proportioned '30s classic sports a great looking
paint job, with its silver cabin complemented by the gray running
along its sweeping fenders and floorboards. It features a sturdily
constructed steel body, so there'll be no worries about the stress
cracks that can occur with its fiberglass-clad counterparts. There
are plenty of great details to admire here - the overall fit and
finish of this car looks great and you'll find full size spares
with matching wheels mounted on both front fenders. In front, a
pair of fog lights sit below the prominently-sized headlights on a
fresh-looking, table straight bumper while in back, the thoroughly
vintage look of the chrome luggage rack with its vinyl lined
storage trunk joins a third brake light molded into the body for
added visibility and safety in real world driving. Every other
additional piece of chrome on display also looks to be in top
form.
The custom-built gray interior shows a lot of workmanship and is
very well-appointed and comfortable, with a pair of tweed covered
front buckets that have yet to develop any discoloration from use.
Both the snug fitting headliner above and the plush carpet lining
the floor are nice finishing details, as is the added console that
houses an assortment of well-placed switches to operate a number of
the interior functions. Along with all of its timeless vintage
charm, there are some really welcome comfort and convenience
features on board that make frequent driving a pleasure, including
a tilt column, power windows and door locks, power bucket seats,
and air conditioning that's blowing strong and cold. You'll have no
shortage of audio options, the AM/FM/CD stereo offers a USB port to
connect an outside source and is also compatible with satellite
radio. There's a collection of aftermarket gauges mounted inside a
billet bezel on the dash to keep tabs on vital motoring
functions.
This classic Buick offers a great driving experience. The 350 cubic
inch V8 fitted into its tapered engine compartment runs very
smoothly - it was rebuilt not long ago and is equipped with a
4-barrel Edelbrock carb, a Holley aluminum intake, aftermarket
headers and an HEI ignition to up its performance, as well as a
number of chrome-finished components for added eye candy. Just
behind it is a 4-speed automatic 700r4 transmission whose overdrive
gear makes for engine-sparing, low revs at highway speeds. The
added Mustang II front end provides a wealth of benefits, including
power disc brakes, responsive and precise power rack and pinion
steering and a nice smooth ride. 15" wire wheels at all four
corners that wear BF Goodrich T/A radials complete the look of this
magnetic classic.
