The 1959 Cadillac has always been memorable with its classic tailfins with dual taillights. In 1959 the de Ville models became series 6300; all Cadillac’s of this year shared the same 130-inch wheelbase with a 390 cu in engine with 325 horsepower for sheer power. They also brought a touch of class with script nameplates on the rear fenders, and it was the first year for those iconic fins.
This before-its-time beauty is the first of the Big Fins. Standard feature muscle as well as safety with front power disc brakes, rear drum brakes, power steering, automatic transmission, wheel discs, new dual exhaust and back-up lamps. For comfort and added luxury, there are two-speed windshield wipers, an outside rear-view mirror, a vanity mirror, power windows and six-way power seats. Serious flash comes from the huge, sharp tailfins and the dual bullet taillights as well as the jewel-like grille.
This car benefited from a frame on restoration. The paint work is stunning .Most of the interior is original as is the chrome. The panel fits are excellent. This is a rust free California car with no waves whatsoever on any body panel. The car runs, starts and drives exceptionally well. The only blemishes on the car are around the vent windows. There is minor pitting but only noticeable upon close inspection. The carburetor has been rebuilt. The gas tank is new as are all gas lines, shocks, springs and bushings. After a thorough inspection we feel the 64,000 miles are original as well. Driving this iconic Cadillac will not only put a smile on the driver's face, but also those seeing it glide down the road.
