2005 Ford Thunderbird Roadster
By the numbers, there were a total of 9,525 50th Anniversary T-Birds made in 2005; which is the last year this model was manufactured. Only 1,500 were built/designed/registered as classic 50th anniversary models with exterior Cashmere/Champagne color. This single owner Thunderbird is registered number 1,307 (of 1500) which is depicted on a plaque in the glovebox. This car has always been garage kept, has just over 35,000 miles, and has 4 new Michelin tires with less than 1,000 miles on them.
The retro exterior, round headlights and taillights, are designed like an aerodynamic version of the "square" birds of the late '50's, but a sleeker shape. This combination convertible/hard top provides three “cruising” options; hard top on, convertible up, convertible down. The hard top with its 1950’s signature porthole windows is manually removable and comes with a wheeled storage/carrier. Hard top installation/removal instructions are in the vehicle glove box. The convertible top is canvas, is fully functional and in very good condition, and comes with a “boot” to cover the convertible storage area. Adding to the sporty look of the car, an aero front hood scoop is noted. The finish/paint is Cashmere Metallic (color or a string of pearls), is in very good condition with a few small scratches and dent on the front bumper, one "nick" on passenger door. No visible rust on paint or chrome trim. Note: this car was in a minor accident in summer 2007 or 2008, in a shopping center parking lot. The damaged passenger door was replaced at a certified Ford dealership (where the car was purchased), with an OEM door. Accident documents were discarded in 2015. Car fax report (which rates this car 5 stars) is available upon request.
Leather seats in good condition (no rips or tears) but has wear lines in the leather, since the car is 2005. Leather is Light Sand color (matching exterior Cashmere paint) with “50th Anniversary” embossed on the front. Matching dash with satin aluminum, white gauges. Cashmere color wrapped steering wheel with Thunderbird emblem in chrome/aqua and shift knob make up the very clean interior. Conveniences such as seat heaters, a 6-disc CD player/AM/FM radio, and premium sound system, climate control, power locks and windows, and power steering/brakes. All mechanics and electronics: brakes, engine, lights, A/C, radio/CD are in very good working order.
The car has a clean, well maintained 3.9 Liter DOHC Fuel Injected V-8 engine with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Also noted is a select shift "tiptronic" mode if you desire to be a little sporty! It’s got a great “kick”, and smooth ride and with its low/wide wheelbase, which provides ride stability and handling.
This car is classic, classy, beautiful and timeless. It commands attention anywhere it goes. Perfect for an afternoon country ride with the top down and/or a weekend beach cruise. A fun car to drive. Please refer to attached photos of original sticker, 50Th Anniversary authentication plaque along with pictures of interior/exterior and engine.
