The 1985 model was the first edition of the MR2 and Toyota made only 30,000 for US distribution (as I understand it). I bought the car new and have loved its style, performance and economy. This car has the original interior and has a sun roof which works and does not leak. I had the engine (and clutch) replaced in 2004 with a used engine that had 60,000 miles on it. So while the odometer reads 143,000 miles the engine actually has only 73,000 miles. I drove it only 20,000 miles the last 15 years. In 2005 I repainted the car and it still looks good. It has alloy wheels, independent suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes, 5 speed manual transmission--all the good sports car stuff. It is in very good condition. Of course it needs some minor work. If it were perfect I would be asking for more. This is a classic mid-engine sports car which runs excellently. I am selling it only because I am getting old and arthritic and find it difficult to get in and out of it. I have the original brochure and operators manual plus most of the service records including the sheet for the engine replacement. The engine compartment cleaned in June 2019.
