Reprising the hallowed California name originally applied to 250 GT
California Spyder and 365 California, the 2+2 hardtop convertible
Ferrari California broke cover at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and
marked several Ferrari firsts. As the first production Ferrari
sporting a folding metal roof, the California was also the first
front-mounted V-8 Ferrari and the first from Maranello equipped
with a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic gearbox with
manual-shifting capability. Beautifully sculpted bodywork designed
by Pininfarina was the product of extensive wind-tunnel testing and
featured numerous functional aerodynamic features. The roof is a

dual-clutch transmission was also revised on HS-optioned cars with
30 per cent quicker upshifts and 40 per cent quicker downshifts for

HS-specific steering upgraded the somewhat over-assisted
directional control of the standard models for improved response.In
