Vehicle Description
Welcome to StreetDreamsTexas as we celebrate our 21st year in the
classic and muscle car business. There are legendary automobiles
that will increase the heart rates of most enthusiasts, and then
there are a very few transcendent marques that inspire awe with the
mere mention of a name. Shelby, as in Carroll H. Shelby, is one of
those few. Although volumes have been written about the
racer/manufacturer/entrepreneur, he is probably best known for his
work with Ford Motor Company involving the Cobra and Mustang
programs. For the 1969 model year, Ford allowed Shelby to alter the
front fenders, hood, and front facia of the GT's, giving the cars a
much sleeker look and vastly improving their aerodynamics. This
beautiful Pastel Gray (D5) 1969 Shelby Cobra GT 500 Fastback
perfectly illustrates the results of Mr. Shelby's magic. According
to the Elite Marti Report, this rare, sleek, and powerful classic
came from the factory with all of the features you see, including
the 428-4V Cobra Jet V8 engine (R), 4-speed close ratio manual
transmission (6), 3.50 Traction-Lok rear axle (S), power steering,
power front disc brakes, Pastel Gray paint (D5), Black Knit Vinyl
Hi-Back Bucket Seats (3AA), Sport Deck rear seat, AM radio, Deluxe
Belts with warning light, and the tachometer with trip odometer.
The SAAC Shelby Registry notes that only 5.2% of these cars were
painted in Pastel Gray, making this one of the rarer hues, and
therefore increasing its desirability. The older restoration was
done correctly (red oxide primer, solid pans, etc.) and shows well,
but the tires are old and we may freshen the chassis a bit. This
car is going to be the centerpiece of someone's collection; will it
be yours? Street Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full service dealership
that can assist with worldwide delivery, insurance, and financing
options.
