Hi to all; for starters, allow me to introduce myself. A bit of a bio. I`m a musician by trade, having shared the stages across America with the stars of rock `n roll. To name a few, Jimi Hendrix, Little Richard, Patsy Cline, Foreigner, John Denver, Herman and The Hermits, The Everly Brothers, Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, The Coasters, Cactus with Carmine Appice,The Kendalls, Levon Helm and the Band, Danny and the Juniors, Dovells, The Orlons, Gordon Lightfoot Iron Butterfly and too many more to mention here. So yes, this makes me an oldie but goodie! Aside from that, collector cars have been my lifelong passion and I`ve driven many of them while on the road.. For your benefit there`s a few favorites placed in the photos section as i suspect many of you will enjoy seeing them, restored or parked for future use.Having owned over 1,000 trucks and cars during my lifetime this love for autos is reflected in the care they receive during my ownership. That said, the Dodge stepside listed is a fairly rare vehicle. A Custom Sport with wood center console that was originally a 6 cylinder, stick shift on the column. Maroon. A photo is included. There are varnished oak side rails that come with it for that "country look. "Due to our modern traffic it was too slow to handle today`s speeds. The truck, a 6 foot bed model, was placed in the hands of Medford Speed and Auto in Southampton N.J. where it received an updated engine swap. It now runs a 323 Chrysler with cam, headers, high-rise aluminum intake, Edelbrock quad, new radiator, and a fresh 727 trans built by a prostreet racer from Atco Dragstrip. It has never been raced. The engine and trans have 30,000 miles or less. It can easily be a daily driver, is inspected every year, and is very dependable. As the garage records will testify, it averages about 500 miles per year or less. It runs every week or so to get lubricated and is presently garage kept. Tires have plenty of tread. The old rear bumper was replaced with a NOS chrome one from a 1950 Chevy pickup and installed by a local custom shop. It has a U-Haul tow package installed which i used once to transport my 1970 Nova Yenko clone during a move. Other than that, it has never pulled anything. Gas mileage is decent, it drives and handles like a car! Very nice ride, kinda` like a Caddy. The hood scoop was installed by the folks who did the bumper. It is not functional as i waited before cutting a hole in the hood to install the carb connections. So at present it looks functional but is not. A steel tire mount/step comes with it. This fits over the front tires to allow for easier engine access. Added to this is 2 new snow tires, not retreads either. Used a couple times as i was driving a 1941 Dodge Coupe for regular use and put them on in case of an emergency. The truck avoids rain, snow and all bad weather. Period. So it is not a rust bucket. Some rust in the front floor pans to be fixed. The hood latch pull cable broke. I added a sturdy wire in place of it which has worked just fine. Very minor cracking in the vinyl nearest the windshield and glove box. A small area. Driver seat has a small section in need of sewing. A photo will show that. The wood bed was purchased, varnished and installed by myself and a friend who is an amazing mechanic. All stainless hardware used. Nuts, bolts, washers. Screws. The bed wood needs a refinish but has been coated each year with Thmpson`s Water Seal. Sides and back wood are fine. The flames? I had a local body shop give me an estimate for the hood only in one color. Red. They did the research and handed me the estimate. $2,000.00 for just the hood! So, being a longtime artist aside from musician it occurred to me i could do far better so, the work began. All the best paints are applied that i could find. "66 Auto Color along with Clear Coat." 2 and 3 coats as required. Totlal time to finish the project? Just short of 3 months. A lot of work and expense. Hand sanded, hand rubbed. Attention paid to detail as best possible. Driver`s side has a few flaws that most would not notice. I do as i painted it. You decide. The grill top below the Dodge emblem has a small dent. A Jeep rolled back at a stop. and the rear mounted spare tapped it. The rest of the grill is good. Front bumper shows age but looks nice actually as the pics will show. Interior door panels are good. No rips or damage. The paint job costs $2,500.00 or more. Mags are excellent.Spare tire on rim is included. This along with a new door on passenger side. A dent at purchase that ii could not allow to remain. Window cranks work. Wipers too. Gas gauge stopped working when U Haul did the wiring for tow kit. I simply fill it when driven. Temp and odometer work. Same for oil pressure and dash tach. No lighter. Rear window slides open for air. Mufflers are good. Brakes inspected. And passed. Smog control is missing so it gets passed each year with a note from inspection garage to Motor Vehicle. Not a big issue. Just paperwork they hand in. Antique plates if desired will have it tagged with no inspection required. Side mirrors are great. A new one installed on passenger door. Does not match driver side mirror. A replacement. This truck has never let me down. Very dependable and fast when needed. Passing on the highways? Not a problem there. Lots of get and go. Sounds good too. Nice rumble at idle, more of a roar when passing. I may add a brief video to display this feature. The same shop has serviced this Dodge for the past 10 years, has all the records and they can be obtained via a phone call. Oil changes even when not needed. Filter as well. Lubes. Thee old "ounce of prevention." Any questions? Please email me for a timely reply. The truck is located minutes from Bloomsburg University in Central PA, just off Route 80. It is currently tagged and insured. Reason for sale and i am not asking more? I have wanted a 1960 T-bird for some time now, and finally bought one. So, the truck, after 22 years of ownership, has to be parted with. I have a 1978 Nova and Toyota 4 Runner as well so there`s no room left to spare. I`ll may be adding more info and photos as we go along. Thanks for your interest in this beautiful collector truck with custom flames that gets a lot of attention everywhere it goes. Drive it and find out for yourself. Joe Seddon
