“Afterburner” is a one of a kind Multiple Award Winning custom Street Rod based on the styling of a 1933 Ford. This street rod is registered and licensed for the street and was first shown at the Grand National Roadster Show in Los Angeles in January 2018. It won best radical street rod at BC's largest indoor custom car show and other best in class awards followed at other shows. This car appeared in the Aug/Sept 2018 edition of Canadian Hot Rods, was featured on August 19, 2019 in hotrod.com and it is scheduled to be featured in the December 2019 issue of Street Rodder Magazine
Approach to the Build
Afterburner was based on the overall styling of a 1933 Ford but with many one of a kind custom details. This street rod was given high performance handling and performance along with all of the modern conveniences
High performance handling
A high performance Factory Five Racing Frame was the starting point to give this one of a kind custom Street Rod great handling.
A Street Rod that accelerates with the best of them
A connect and cruise LS3 E-Rod (50 State Emissions Legal) was used to give the car great performance. About 450 HP in a 2500 pound car. It hauls.
Modern Conveniences
Afterburner has all of the modern conveniences and creature comforts that you would expect in a modern automobile such as an audio-visual system, air conditioning, power windows, and cruise control.
The Frame
the modern and proven Factory Five 33 mig-welded high strength carbon steel tubular and plate space-frame as the high performance foundation for this Super Street Rod (SSR).
The Suspension
A transverse inboard front and 4-link rear suspension
Unequal length upper and lower control arms
QA1 adjustable coil overs were used front and back
The Brakes
Wilwood 6 caliper Front Brakes with cross drilled and slotted rotors
Wilwood Rear Brakes with cross drilled and slotted rotors
A Classic Performance Products chrome master cylinder and booster
