GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1974 GMC K2500 Firetruck
for sale. The truck offered here was built as a custom firetruck by
the Boyer Apparatus Company. Boyer took existing trucks and
retrofitted them to suit the needs of firefighters. This stepside
K2500 is powered by a 350ci V8 that is mated to an automatic
transmission. The 4x4 on this truck has high and low gears.
Firetrucks are painted a bright color for safety and to attract
attention. This truck is no exception as it is finished in a bright
orange. Though the fire department logo is fading the rest of the
paint is in great condition showing minor imperfections. The bed of
the truck is made of wood planks which were painted to match the
exterior of the truck.
Inside the truck you will find a bench seat that is in great
condition as well as a black dashboard. There is no warping of the
dashboard and all gauges and dials are working as they should. Many
switches are located on the interior which at one point controlled
fire suppression equipment that has since been removed.
Mechanically the truck is in good condition and starts and runs
without issues. The season of summer holidays and parades has
arrived and this truck is your chance to own a beautiful classic
