For Sale: 1930 Cadillac V16 in Orange, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

This is most likely the best 1930 Cadillac V-16 Roadster that exists today. This history of this car is as follows:

Originally sold new at the Cadillac dealership in Providence, Rhode Island, this is one of the most original V-16 roadsters in existence today. There were originally 100 roadsters (style number 4302) produced and only a handful of authentic original examples exist today. This is body number 38. I am very confident in saying that this is the best one both in condition and provenance.

From the original family, the car was then passed on to the famed collector James Melton of Weston, Connecticut in the 1940's where it stayed for a number of years. In the late 1950's the car was then passed on to another renowned collector David Tunick of Greenwich, Connecticut. David then sold the car to Joseph Volonino of Bridgeport, Connecticut on June 22, 1964. Mr. Volonino sold us the car one year ago after chasing him for 25 years and have since given the car a complete nut and bolt restoration.

The restoration on this car is perfect and was a very thorough and painstaking process to ensure this car was absolutely correct and proper. The car was stripped down to a bare chassis and everything has been gone through. Every single part of this car has been restored properly and beautifully. Most importantly, every number and every piece of this car is original and correct to this car. It retains all of the original wood in its body including its original Fleetwood stamp and body number. Complete with a copy of its original build sheet from General Motors and a bill of sale from David Tunick to Joseph Volonino in 1964. Its an outstanding car with a perfect restoration and really great history. I have attached pictures of the important numbers including the original Fleetwood body tag, Fleetwood body stamp on the sill of the body, engine numbers, transmission number, steering box number and front axle number. All proper and correlating to the build sheet. I also attached a copy of the original build sheet and the bill of sale from David Tunick to Joseph Volonino. The restoration of the car has literally just been completed. The V-16 expert and historian William Meffert has helped with the restoration and has seen this car a few times and has also said that this is one of the best V-16 roadsters he has ever seen. He actually recalls seeing this very car in James Meltons collection as a young man. If you have the desire to own a V-16 roadster, it doesn't get any better than this.
