Vehicle Description
As if the "through the roof" curb appeal of this 1939 Ford Coupe
Streetrod wasn't enough to make it an absolute standout, it also
offers an outstanding driving experience, courtesy of an array of
well-chosen upgrades. This street machine is a head turner of the
highest order and, as much as onlookers will welcome its approach,
you'll equally welcome every opportunity to get behind the wheel.
It's logged only light usage since its build, so its best days are
still very much ahead.
This classic features a thoroughly inspired appearance that mixes
elements of vintage and modern style to result in a well-equipped
ride that will no doubt attract attention, and it's also
well-suited to handle frequent driving in everyday conditions. The
style of the exterior is really something to behold - check out
that prominent front end and the flowing fenders giving way to
those broad running boards. Its magnetic purple body is clad almost
entirely in steel, so this vintage Ford is well-equipped to stand
up to the tests of both time and usage and the pair of fiberglass
fenders in back lighten its curb weight and help create a favorable
power to weight ratio. The deletion of bumpers at both ends and
shaved door handles allow the dramatic curvature and paint job to
take center stage, while an upgraded suspension also affords it an
aggressive, lowered stance that fits it perfectly.
Light colored tweed seats in front and back, bracketed by matching
two-tone door panels are among a number of highlights that make for
an eye-catching interior. Up front, the dark purple dash houses an
extensive collection of gauges, including a speedometer and tach on
the driver's side that are joined by a quintet of AutoMeter
displays on the passenger's side. With the featured Sony head unit
pairing with a set of speakers that includes a boxed pair in back,
this '39 offers a quality audio experience and the underdash air
conditioning system is in top form to keep everyone cool during
this warmer weather. In back, the tweed-covered trunk is ornamented
by a pair of inner fender wells left in their raw steel state and
it's definitely a winning look.
A whole host of mechanical and performance upgrades makes this a
Streetrod a standout ride. The 350 cubic inch V8 beneath its hood
wears a polished TPI intake manifold and color matched valve covers
and is fed by fuel injection whose effect is amplified by a side
mount air induction system. Turn the key, tap on the gas and you'll
hear a nice, deep note emanating out of its headers leading to a
dual Flowmaster exhaust. The engine pairs with a 4-speed automatic
transmission with an overdrive gear that makes for good highway
manners and farther forward an aluminum radiator teams with an
electric fan to keep operating temperatures under control. You can
only imagine the looks you'll get while behind the wheel cruising
the Interstate and while you're out there, it won't take long to
notice the outstanding ride quality and precise handling this
vintage Ford has, courtesy of a C4 Corvette suspension that
includes coilovers in front and a multi-link suspension in back.
Power disc brakes at both ends bring low-effort stopping power as
this well-configured cruiser prowls the asphalt on a set of 15"
Budnik wheels wearing sizable 29/15/15/ Mickey Thompsons in back
for excellent asphalt gripping power.
