-- SALE PENDING -- The 2001 production year was the shortest of any Chevy Camaro to date. The base powerplant for the 2001 Camaro remained the 200hp V6, with a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. But Z/28 power was boosted to 310hp from the 5.7-liter, 346ci V8. SLP Engineering ‒ known for working magic with GM’s F-Bodies since the late ʼ80s ‒ supplied the parts to turn a Z/28 into an SS. And in doing so boosted the horsepower up, yet again, to 325.
Only 1,452 Z/28 convertibles were produced in 2001, and about half of them had the 6-speed manual gearbox. Rarity really sets in when you factor this example is only one of 144 triple-black, 6-speed convertibles. Ticking almost every box on the options list ‒ including leather-trimmed bucket seats, acceleration slip regulation, Hurst short-throw shifter and the premium Monsoon sound system ‒ this is a fully loaded, high-performance Camaro with few rivals.
