The excellent condition three owners 420SEL went through several services and maintenance by current owner. As the original maintenance booklet reflects, it was regularly being serviced at least once a year since brand new until Nov. 1995 at 71733 Miles. After that, as Carfax reflects, it was driven around 300 miles between 1999 and 2006 while keeping it current with maintenance at Mercedes-Benz of San Francisco. It was stored until 2018 when I took the ownership.
While in my possession, I tried to bring the maintenance and safety up to date. Some of the major services include brakes, front suspension, wheel alignment, A/C, fuel system, oil/fluid/filters, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs and wire sets.
Wheels are good and were originally wearing outdated tires (1998-2002 model years) but now wearing a new set of Bridgestone tires.
Two new Bilstein rear shocks are included with the sale.
Original Becker radio was serviced last year by Becker USA and a Sony 10 CD changer was installed in the trunk a number of years ago by previous owner.
As I bought an older 450SL few months back this one needs to go to a loving new owner. The car is well maintained and lived all of her life in North California so no rust deterioration.
Pictures easily shows that exterior, interior, and power train are all in excellent condition. Paint has a few small blemishes. It runs and drives superb as a reconditioned build to last 80’s Mercedes Benz would be.
