There's truly something special about owning a well-built street
machine that is as comfortable to drive to the car show as it is to
take across the country. This 1937 Ford pickup streetrod is just
that - a completely functional vehicle wrapped up in an awesome
shell. With a strong fuel-injected small block, overdrive
transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, and custom A/C interior, it's
an award-worthy car that also is easy to cruise near or far.
This car represents an interesting part of Ford history. There were
a few rare business coupes with pickup boxes that debuted in '37.
This takes that idea and turns it into a slick street machine. It
starts with a fiberglass body believed to be built by Wild Rod
Factory - a rare piece that is no longer available. The two-tone
Pearl White and Dark Blue Metallic looks amazing even from miles
away, but when you get up close, it's the pinstriping that really
steals the show. You have an artful light blue and champagne
accenting the curves, and there's even hand-laid stripes around the
edges! Just like any good custom build, it has all the right
details to impress. You see this in places like the bright aluminum
grille, integrated running boards, deleted door handles,
Corvette-style taillights, sport mirrors, and power actuators that
reveal the engine and carpeted truck bed. Of course, it wouldn't be
a hot rod without an aggressive stance thanks to the 17-inch Billet
Specialties polished wheels.
When you pop the remote door openers, the suicide doors open wide
to reveal a full custom interior. This continues a great blue and
white two-tone to be nicely coordinated with the exterior. And you
can tell there was a solid investment in making sure these two
colors were expertly intertwined on the dash, custom door panels,
carpeting, and leather seats. In fact, not only do those dual
buckets provide plenty of modern comfort, but they also have an
awesome look with alligator-style inserts. The custom center
console houses a ton of premium features, including power window
switches, power locks, cup holders, and the AM/FM/CD stereo w/USB
input so you can do everything from plug in your iPod to charge
your phone. And yes, they also neatly integrated the vents for the
modern R134a air conditioning system. This is built to be a true
driver's machine, and that's why the grippy sports steering wheel
is on a polished tilt column. And the dash is dominated by Dolphin
gauges.
Grab your sunglasses before pressing the button to open the hood.
That's because the piano-style hinge gives a big reveal to the
stunning motor. We dare you to find another component that can be
polished on this award-worthy presentation. More than just style,
this one has substance. You're looking at a 350 cubic-inch
fuel-injected V8 like that was available in the C4 Corvette. That
means it's a strong motor with solid footing. And the headers
feeding the stainless dual exhaust will make everyone takes notice
with its rumble. But don't just listen to the sound, admire its
full path in the undercarriage photos. There you'll see all the
gleaming components against the painted custom chassis. But as
beautiful as this looks, it was also built for long Sunday drives.
That starts with a four-speed automatic transmission with
highway-friendly overdrive. This one also features a tubular A-arm
front suspension, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes.
Slick, distinct, and absolutely awesome, this is the streetrod
pickup with all the features you want. So don't let it go into
someone else's garage. Call now!
