This cool 1965 Ford Econoline Pickup is an absolute blast to drive and is the center of attention wherever it goes. This American classic pickup was restored to enjoy and look good doing so. The first generation of the Ford Econoline made its debut on September 21, 1960. Introduced for the 1961 model year as a cargo van, pickup truck and passenger van, the Econoline began development based on design sketches that were dated 1957. While remaining a forward–control vehicle, Ford adopted a mid-engine configuration as the engine was placed between the front seats instead of behind the rear axles as on a Chevrolet Corvair, a larger flat load floor was created allowing for additional load capacity. The first-generation Ford Econoline was produced from 1961-1967. As the VIN number and warranty tag indicates this is a 1965 Ford Econoline Pickup that was built June 1965 in Lorain, OH. It was originally painted Light Blue and powered by a 240 inline 6 cylinder with a 3-speed manual transmission. The gross vehicle weight is 3,600 lbs with 1/2 –ton payload. This pickup was the product of an ongoing restoration over the last ten years. The entire vehicle was refreshed in July of 2019. During the restoration the color was changed to Red which enhances its character. The red paint is complemented with white accents including the sun visor, front bumper, back bumper, bed rails and Ford letters on the tailgate. All of the glass is in nice condition throughout. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced. The wheels match the exterior colors perfectly with red accents on the hub caps and whitewall tires. The red interior has been nicely restored throughout. The interior is very spacious and the bucket seats are comfortable. The rear bed has been treated with textured paint for durability and a clean look. The spare red wheel with tire looks great inside the rear bed. The engine compartment is nicely detailed throughout. The engine starts instantly and runs beautifully. The engine is coupled to a 3-speed manual column shift transmission which shifts very smoothly. The undercarriage is nicely detailed throughout. This 1965 Ford Econoline Pickup is so cool and put smiles on people’s faces. The original owner’s manual and multiple receipts are included. This vehicle had a $3,697.22 service in June 2016 which is documented with receipts that are included.
