Vehicle Description
1962 Cadillac DeVille
This is a striking, show quality example of a classic 1962 Cadillac
Coupe DeVille that has been fully customized, re-finished and
enhanced with artistically selected, and skillfully executed
details. The modifications only emphasize and enhance the car's
classic appearance, while also significantly upgrading its
performance, luxury and convenience. The car was built over a
4-year period starting with a local, stock original car with only
10,000 actual miles. No expense has been spared on this very
drivable, heavily customized street rod. It has been valued by
Blair Car Appraisers & Consultants at $150,000.00, and a copy of
the appraisal goes with the car.
The car is powered by the original, number-matching 390ci V-8, that
has been totally rebuilt putting out 325-horsepower and the block
painted a custom black. The power flows smoothly through the easy
shifting, original transmission and rear-end. The engine has been
modified to include a tri-power set-up with Rochester carburetors
with Offenhauser finned chrome individual air cleaners, pan and
valve covers. All of the wiring harnesses and pulleys have been
replaced, rebuilt/painted, while being nicely routed and secured
and a Super Stock chrome finished coil has been included. It is
also upgraded and outfitted with a Pro Cool aluminum radiator, All
Cool Flex upper and lower radiator hoses and a B&M Transmission
cooler that is mounted in front of the radiator. It has been
finished with performance coated intake manifolds, custom exhaust
headers (that flow through a rebuilt dual exhaust) and water pump
housings. Yellow dual top Optima batteries have been installed to
match the high capacity, chrome finished, 160-AMP alternator and
newly wired electrical system. The body color has been put in as an
accent on all the rib valleys of the components mentioned above, as
well as the entire engine compartment that also sports a special
50th Anniversary Edition emblem that says, "Standard of the
World".
Outside, the exterior of the car has an absolutely incredible, show
quality, PPG Black base and "Kustom Shop" Purple and Blue
Holographic Pearl flake top-coat finish. The chrome on the car has
all been redone, stainless trim re-polished and both precisely
aligned. It has Tri-Bar headlights with HID bulbs and PIAA Deno 6
LED daytime running lights with the bezels color-matched to the
body and the grilles non-chrome components finished the same. All
of the glass on the car is original and in perfect condition along
with the seals. Underneath, the chassis has been completely
rotisserie restored, and then completed with powder coating that
includes the front suspension, all steering components and sway
bars. The brake system has been completely rebuilt, including all
lines and the master/power boosters. The stock front-end has been
converted to disc brakes with 13" cross-drilled and slotted zinc
washed rotors mounted to a 2024 T6 Billet aluminum CNC machined
hub, with PBR calipers. The oversize brake pad surface was made
possible by the room made from the 22" Forgiano, three-piece
polished and chromed alloy wheels that sit atop Pirelli P245/30/ZR
P Zero tires. The wheels have also been painted and accented with
the inner barrels and bolts painted the body color.
The interior of this '62 Caddy is a masterpiece in and of itself.
It is fully customized enhancing the original Cadillac luxury with
modern conveniences. The seats/door panels are finished with Black
NAPA Bentley leather while the headliner, dash and rear package
tray are fully upholstered in Ultra leather to match. The dash has
been fully customized with a full set of Dakota digital gauges that
have been nicely fitted into the original make-up, and finished in
the body color as well. It has a custom steering wheel, and like
the outside, all of the chrome and stainless inside have been
completely redone. Custom blue lighting has been installed under
the dash and rear seat cushions to softly illuminate the floor when
on. Do you like tunes while you cruise? This car has a competition
show quality JL Audio System with Kenwood head unit controller in
an exceptionally and artistically, acoustically-tuned manner that
favors the interiors appearance, rather than taking from it. This
audio system cost in excess of $27,000.00 alone to build and
install! The trunk of the car has been insulated, and skillfully
modified, to house and conceal all of the major components of the
audio system, along with the air ride system. The latter is an Air
Ride Tech Stage 2 Suspension System that includes dual compressors
and a 10-gallon aluminum tank, which are also all hidden in the
same matching black Ultra leather as the interior.
From the amazing paint, mind-blowing interior and exceptionally
modified power plant with a perfect mellow but throaty exhaust
sound...this is just an unbelievable streetrod built on a platform
that you rarely see.
