I'm selling my 1968 Mercury Cougar that I've owned for 8 years. Power steering & disc brakes, tilt-away steering wheel, AM/8-track, and factory A/C (non-functional, but i have the compressor & hoses). It has the 302-2V engine, and is currently equipped with GT40 heads (I have the originals), Edelbrock Performer 289 intake with a Holly 600 CFM carburetor. It has just under 85,000 miles.
This car was built in San Jose, and sold out of Beverly Lincoln-Mercury. I have the original owners's manual and CA black plates w/dealer frames. I also have a Marti report.
I have had a number of things rebuilt, such as the transmission and front end. Other components include the alternator, water pump, timing chain/sprockets, power steering pump, and distributor. It runs and drives quite nice! I had a front end alignment done this year. The vinyl top and front seat covers were done by the previous owner, who also did the wheels.
Having been a daily driver in LA, it has seen a fender-bender or two based on some of the panel fit. The spot on the passenger door is the result of one previous incident.
More pics are available upon request, btw.
This is a great car for someone wanting to get into the hobby, as it was for me!
