You're looking at a 2012 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake
that's 1 of 50 black anniversary cars (and believed to be the only
one of it configuration!) So this is a low-mileage and ultra-low
production 800 hp juggernaut from one of the most celebrated names
in American performance.
The Super Snake is a true professionally built muscle machine.
Shelby American transformed the GT500 into one of the most powerful
and highly sought-after Mustangs to ever hit the streets. It has a
special fiberglass Super Snake hood that looks like it can swallow
its victims whole. There's a new front fascia with deep ducts and a
large carbon fiber front splitter. The blocked-out rear quarter
windows pay homage to the best snake-bitten Shelby before it. This
airflow package is completed in the rear with a large spoiler on
top, and a functional splitter down low with the dual exhaust. If
you're a lover of brightwork, then you still get it on this one,
but it remains functional on features like the hood pins and those
massive exhaust tips. What makes this example extra impressive is
it's a very limited edition car celebrating Shelby American's
half-century of dominance. 100 anniversary cars were built; only 50
were in black with gold striping; and this is the only one believed
to have the optional Wide Body kit that allows for even more rubber
to meet the road. So when you can mention Shelby and this kind of
rarity in the same breath, you know this will always be pony car
royalty. That's why this supercar has less than 1,700 miles on the
odometer and it retains a showroom level of shine.
The moment you open the door, the first thing you'll notice are the
seats. They are race-ready units that have an outstanding look with
the gold stitching and special embroidery that coordinate with the
exterior package. And with such low mileage, this Katzkin leather
upgrade looks and feels supple. And while this is a true track day
monster, it's also a premium machine. That's why you get all the
best modern features, including power windows, power locks, power
seats, keyless entry, cruise control, and automatic climate
control. The stereo is the AM/FM/XM/CD Shaker unit with a
touchscreen interface. It pumps out huge power, and it's still
modern enough to have satellite navigation and interface with your
phone. Speaking of modern conveniences, you also get the safety of
dual front airbags and side airbags.
This generation of the Super Snake is especially sought after for
what's under the hood. You'll love showing off this amazingly fresh
engine bay that's stuffed with Shelby Mustang power. The
fuel-injected 5.4-liter V8 is significantly lighter and more
advanced than the previous generation. Not only is this motor
believed original, but it came direct from Shelby American with the
special optional Kenne Bell supercharger. That means this is the
top dog with a ferocious 800 horsepower. This symphony of power is
played through a sweet-sounding Borla cat-back exhaust system. You
get full control of this monster motor and its thunderous
soundtrack thanks to the six-speed manual transmission. In fact,
speaking of control, the suspension was upgraded to include
Watts-link rear, Eibach adjustable coilovers, added bracing, and
Wilwood disc brakes that are slotted and vented at every corner.
And it's all backed up by super sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport
tires (and don't forget the rare wide body means wider tires for
superior grip!)
