This model was never sold in the USA, but it was considered to be the the best/lightest/fastest/most powerful of the oil cooled GSX-R750’s.

Here is a link for the last ‘F’ to be sold in the USA - https://www.mecum.com/lots/LV0119-362253/1985-suzuki-gsxr-750/

This first-year “Gixxer” was the herald of a revolution in sports motorcycles. Suzuki introduced the GSX-R as a full-on racing replica in 1985, the first proper roadster/production racer from Japan. It wasn’t a sheep in wolf’s clothing; it was the real deal, and it changed the sportbike game forever. It had more power and considerably less weight than any other 750, and it was packed with technology previously only seen on the track, and on factory team bikes at that. It was the first Japanese motorcycle with oil cooling and featured an all-aluminum frame, which Suzuki had pioneered on its RG250 a year earlier. The GSX-R also had full-race features like 41mm forks, flat-slide carburetors, triple 300mm drilled disc brakes, 18-inch wheels and magnesium rocker covers. With its extensive use of lightweight materials in its construction, the GSX-R weighed 388 pounds, which was about 70 pounds less than its rivals in the 750cc class like the Kawasaki Ninja or Yamaha FZ750. The close-pitch finning of the GSX-R engine made possible by its air-oil cooling made it a handsome motor, and even better, it’s four-valve design churned out 106 HP at 10,500 RPM, giving it a 160 MPH top speed and making it the lightest and most powerful 750cc production motorcycle of all time. It was truly the first modern race replica that had better than acceptable road manners, and it still managed to exude a race-bike vibe, being painted in the factory’s endurance racing colors that suited the twin-headlamp machine very well. They were devastating on the track, too, in the hands of Kevin Schwantz in the Transatlantic series and even at the Isle of Man, where Mick Grant made his final Island victory in the 750 Production TT in 1985.

This excellent 1985 Suzuki GSX-R 750F is a first-year machine and the most raw and wild of the whole series. Changes the following year would tame the bike slightly, making the 1985 model the one to have. It’s on every collector’s list of “find a good one now” bikes, and coming from the MC Collection of Sweden, this one is about as good as they come.
