1951 DeSoto Custom Sedan
A fine example of a rare classic, the Custom was DeSoto’s top-trim level car when it was in production. This vehicle has been driven sparingly in the summer months with only 32,000 original miles on the odometer. Always stored in the winter. Significant money invested in the vehicle which is in great condition all round and ready to drive away today.
Exterior
4-door sedan body type, the coachwork is in great condition with panels being straight and gaps very consistent. Vehicle has also benefited from a recent professional re-spray, as well as refinishing of all exterior chrome. All windows are in good order with no splits, chips or cracks. White wall tires and metal hubcaps in good condition. Original hood ornament of a helmeted DeSoto figure sets off the sweeping lines of the vehicle.
Interior
Very similar to the exterior in condition, the brown velour upholstery is in great condition, as is the head-liner and side panels. Dashboard instrumentation is all in good working order. Very little wear.
Drivetrain
Powered by an original Chrysler L-head 236.7A flat inline 6-cylinder engine which is unrestored and has been well maintained over the years. Vehicle drives great with engine and 4-speed automatic transmission running smoothly. Brakes respond well and exhaust is in good condition. Vehicle benefits from a new battery.
Undercarriage
Undercarriage is in good order.
