For Sale: 2005 Pontiac GTO in Mesa, Arizona

Vehicle Description

Pontiac brought back the GTO in the 2000s to create an instant classic. That's especially true with this 2005 example that has a full-blackout appearance, LS2 V8 power, and a six-speed stick-shift. So when something so desirable is also so affordable, you know this might not even stay around long enough to read the full advertisement.

Sleekly rounded styling, factory ground effects body kit, full-width rear spoiler, and the factory 17-inch alloys - the last GTO was quite a sporty machine. But more than just living up to its legendary name, this is a very special Pontiac. The company made an unprecedented move to reach over to Australia to bring back the best four-person sports car in the GM family. It was such a good idea, that this would be the base for the Camaro a few years later. But in 2005 the GTO's revival was a quiet one, with less than 12,000 cars brought over for the year. This is a special year (more on that in a moment) so it's an instant classic. That's especially true in the factory-correct Black Metallic paint. And with Pontiac gone from our landscape, it's getting tougher and tougher to find late-model muscle with the twin grille.

The interior is one of the best arguments ever for reaching across the world for a new GM product. Holden had far superior materials than much of the rest of the Pontiac lineup, and in fact, this GTO helped show the way to provide a true mix of luxury and performance. That means power front seats that are finished in leather and have the bolstering to be all-day comfortable. You'll love the detail work, like how the red dials have an unmistakably performance-oriented feel within the aggressively dark interior. This loaded Pontiac has plenty of great features, such as power windows, power locks, dual front airbags, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, and ice-cold air conditioning. Plus, the AM/FM/CD stereo is by Blaupunkt, so you get premium European sound in this American muscle package.

While the GTO was revived in 2004, the reason why you want to get the 2005 model is because it was upgraded to LS2 power. The 6.0-liter fuel-injected V8 was rated at a tire-burning 400 horsepower (50 more hp than the previous year.) It's believed to be the original motor to the car, and it all look exceptionally stock - except for the Volant cold air intake that's great for adding even more power. This is a versatile V8 that makes for easy driving in everyday situations. But that six-speed manual transmission means you have the control to make it instantly growl to life the moment you want a dominant sports car on the streets. Plus, it has all the best modern driving features, including a fully independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes w/ABS.

Complete with owner's manual, this is an instant classic offered for a fantastic price. So don't miss your chance, call today!
