For Sale: 1973 Mercury Cougar in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

The colors and quality drew me to this car. You can just tell at first glance, it's a quality piece. Includes a folder stuffed with maintenance records and owner history. It has lived in the Omaha area its entire life. The owner got oil charges and professional detail on a regular basis. You can tell it was someone's pride and joy. Documented with Marti report, only 309 were made in these colors.

EXTERIOR: The body and paint are outstanding. Really, it's show quality. The body is straight as a laser beam. The gaps are right on the money. Repainted it's original bright red color. Every square inch of paint has a glass finish. The front end of the car is beautiful. Original chrome grill, headlight bezels and trim are real nice. Rechromed bumper. In back the taillights and bumper are very nice original. Has sport mirrors. It has some rare wheels, tires look new. Door jambs are painted real slick, weather strips are real nice. Has a brand new looking, crisp white convertible power top.

INTERIOR: Beautiful white interior. You can tell it has not been abused, very well cared for. New molded armrest door panels. Upholstery was replaced. The dash area is mint. The dash pad, lenses, knobs etc are clean. Has a stereo in the factory hole. XR-7 includes a tachometer and oil pressure gauge. The center console is in excellent shape.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Has vin # matched, big block 351 Cleveland motor and it is very proper like it came out of the factory. The stock air cleaner still has all the snorkels, vacuum lines and heat riser tube. Everything is very clean. Has the plastic washer fluid bottle, original fan shroud. Features include power steering and power brakes also factory air conditioning. It's been serviced and updated to R134 freon. Everything is very clean. Bottom side of the hood and jamb are painted gloss red.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Super clean original, it still has it's dark gray spatter paint and original trunk mat. Has jack & spare. Bottom of the trunk lid and jamb are glossy red paint, has new weather strip. Trunk light works.

UNDERSIDE: Very solid, clean original metal. Floors and frame rails are dry Underneath is not detailed or glossy but very proper and orderly. recent shocks. New dual exhaust with glass pack style mufflers.

Again, this has one hell of a paint job. It's a well cared for car, you can tell by the records. It will make a reliable, comfortable cruiser that will turn heads!
