“This ’63 Crown Imperial convertible is one of the rarest products of Chrysler’s ongoing battle with Cadillac for American ultra-luxury supremacy. The odometer reads 57,269 miles and while we have no documentation to verify these are true miles looking at the car from top to bottom, inside and out they could very well be original miles. The undercarriage has no rust and is in great shape. As you can see from the photos there is a light black coating on the frame and components but it is very thin and looks close to what would have been done from the factory. Extremely clean and preserved as it should be. Newer aluminum exhaust system with newer gas tank and KYB shocks all the way around.
Mechanically this car is sound. Fires right up and idles perfectly. Acceleration, steering and braking are spot on for this car. Extremely smooth and tracks nicely. Doesn’t sway or pull from one side to another. This ’63 engine is so smooth and quiet that you forget its running at an idle. Everything on this car is in great working condition. The windows roll up and down, the power top retracts and closes as it should. A red vinyl top boot is also included. All interior courtesy lights fully functional and work. Factory clock is still ticking displaying the current time. Factory AC does work and blow but the original R12 system needs a recharge. Michelin tires cover the Kelsey Hayes wire wheels that are in excellent shape with very little wear and no dry rot/cracking.
Cosmetically this ’63 is also in excellent condition. Laser straight body with orange-peel FREE paint that shows beautifully. Interior has been completely redone with new red carpeting and deluxe red leather interior throughout. The bright work is also in excellent shape and shines nicely. No pitting or oxidation shown. This Imperial Crown has been resprayed one time according to the current owner. The respray was done in its factory W paint code Oyster white. The body tag displays a 925= 2 dr. convertible with a 955= red interior in paint code W= oyster white. The 413 V8 has the correct engine stamp 2205697 – 1959-1965, 413/426 RB-series big-block. The original 22″ mopar radiator is still intact with part # 2276855.
