1980 Fiat 124 Spider, The car is an original California car, with NO rust, original paint getting thin in places but still good (Front hood exception- one repaint) with few blemishes overall. The Only Once Original concept kept me from repainting the car, all mechanical components have been gone thru, reconditioned or replaced.
The interior: The notorious front seat back, always twisted have been reinforced, new OEM seat foam replaced and all seat have been upholstered with Porsche Beige soft leather, rear bench included. Dynamat was used inside for sound proofing.New heater core.
New Hartz beige top.
The suspension and breaks: Larger vented rotors and calipers from new Fiat500 Abarth have been installed on front, major improvement on braking. All front suspension arms have been replaced wit new ones, new wheel bearing/seals all way around and Koni performance shock absorbers installed. New larger diameter Front sway bar with billet machined brackets added rear sway bar.
The Engine: Custom high compression forged pistons by Venolia, larger diameter valves in head, new spring valves/seals, Adjustable timing gear (Sprockets). New oil pump and bearings, balanced crankshaft with rods and New lighter flywheel from Aasco. Intake 310 camshaft from Guy Croft in England. Stock exhaust camshaft for a nice combination of torque and higher end Redline at 7,000 rpm, it's a Lampredi design, so is fair to call it baby Ferrari sound :). Custom equal length headers and 2 1/4' SS exhaust system.
The Fuel delivery: Backdated to Abarth replica double Weber IDF 44 (new) with manifold, new high pressure fuel pump and regulator (Holly).
New Electric high torque starter, 90 AmpH Alternator. Electronic ignition. New larger capacity Aluminum radiator, all new hoses, seals, rubber, gaskets ,anything I came across and I could replace, I did.
Gearbox: All synchro new, resealed, synthetic oil, differential gasket plus oil.
Drives like a dream! It was mine, when in high school in a poor country behind the iron curtain. Time to move on.
