Vehicle Description
1970 AMC Rebel Machine For Sale - The Iconic Red, White and Blue
Color Combination LMC is proud to offer for sale this 1970 AMC
Rebel Machine If you are an AMC fan and want to own its most
impressive muscle car, then it would be none other than one of the
2,326 Rebel Machines produced for the 1970 model year. While the
Rebel was available in most of AMC's 1970 color pallet, the first
1,000 cars were painted in the company's race-inspired red, white
and blue color scheme. AMC offered the then-biggest version of its
second-generation V-8 in the Rebel Machine for 1970, bored and
stroked to 390 CI. It was based on AMC's modern, versatile and
lightweight small-block V-8, first introduced in 1966. With 340 HP
and 430 lb-ft of torque for 1970the most ever offered on an
American Motors street-legal carthe Rebel Machine battled with the
likes of Chevrolet's Chevelle 454 and Ford's Torino 429 Cobra Jet
for muscle-car supremacy on the street and the nation's drag
strips. This Rebel Machine is powered by AMC's most powerful
production engine ever: still displacing 390 cubic inches, the
Machine engine received a completely reworked top end (cylinder
heads, cam, valvetrain, intake, exhaust system) to crank out 340
horsepower and 430 foot-pounds of torque. The transmission and rear
end remained the same as in the S/C Rambler, with the venerable
BorgWarner T-10 four-speed manual and optional "Twin Grip"
differential with either 3.54:1 or 3.90:1 final drive ratios. This
example carries the iconic red, white, and blue paint scheme, which
means it is one of the first units built. As a collector-owned car,
it has been meticulously maintained for many years. The paint still
carries a beautiful glossy lustre and the interior looks and feels
new. Slide into the comfortable black vinyl seats and you will find
yourself presented with a steering wheel, dash, and gauges all in
excellent condition. The white shift knob for the four-speed manual
transmission looks excellent, as does the entire trunk compartment.
If you dare to be different, this 1970 AMC Rebel Machine would be a
worthy addition to any collection covering the ultimate year in
muscle-car history. If you are tired of the "me-too" cars you see on
every corner, don't miss the opportunity to own one of the rarest,
best performing muscle cars ever made. Additional Details: 1970 AMC
