This 1960 Lotus Elite is a right-hand-drive Series I example that
was delivered new to the US and remained with its second owner for
47 years. Finished in Poppy Red over a tan interior, the car was
under a long-running restoration with the previous owner, which
included refinishing the fiberglass bodyshell, rebuilding of the
suspension and drive train and a partially reupholstered interior
at Treasured Motorcars in Manchester, Maryland. The Coventry Climax
FWE 1,216cc inline-four was also reinstalled in the early 2000s
after having been rebuilt in the 1980s. The seller purchased the
car on BaT in July 2017 from the longterm owner and relocated it to
his home in the UK. Approximately 500 miles have been added by the
seller since they completed the restoration work.This Lotus Elite
is now being offered in London with restoration records and a UK
