European Motor Studio is very excited to offer this very rare find. A highly original 1979 Jaguar XJ12 L Series II Saloon finished in iconic British Racing Green over Biscuit leather. Rolling off the Coventry Browns Lane factory in November of 1978 making this XJ Saloon one of the final Series II XJ's made and one of the final XJ12's for Series II production. The car was invoiced to British Leyland North America and then sold new to its first owner. In 1986 the second owner purchased the car where it would live in Nashville Tennessee until coming out of long term ownership this past month. Having covered a mere 40,200 original miles, this XJ12 sedan sits wearing most of its original British Racing Green paint (with some touch up's over the years) still showing remarkably well for the cars age. The body is incredibly straight and rust free. The undercarriage is very original and untouched with no signs of rust or any prior damage. The chrome and trim are all in excellent condition with very lite age showing on the front rubber bumper and some lite scratches to the rear chrome bumper. The bumper fitment is still very good with no real issues of warpage or damage. The glass all looks original and free from any cracks or scratches. The original Connolly leather interior is in excellent condition showing minimal wear and very lite creasing on the driver seat bottom and side bolster. The leather still retains a nice supple feel and great color. All of the carpets are original with lite wear to the driver foot well area. The center console and dash are in excellent untouched condition and free from any shrinkage, cracks or damage. All of the switchgear and gauges are in excellent original condition and free from any fading or damage. Jaguar's iconic 5.3 liter V12 engine is housed underneath the hood and runs silky smooth. Having just had a full service including plugs, wires, cap and rotor, air, oil and fuel filters, an aluminum radiator and removal and clean of the injectors, this V12 engine runs beautifully. The transmission has just been pulled out of the car and completely re-sealed including the transmission pump seal. New front pads, rotors and calipers have just been installed along with brand new tires. All of the electrical components in the car are operating as designed down to the original radio, power antenna, AC, power windows, interior and exterior lights and power passenger mirror. The speedo cable does float around and the door locks get sticky at times. This XJ12 Series II Saloon is an incredibly rare find, especially being a very late and final Series II. Having just come out of a long term ownership since 1986, this XJ12 is accompanied with its original owners handbook, original keys, factory brochure, registration and insurance cards to document the ownership history, the original spare tire, jack and tool kit.
