1986 Corvette
Why This Vehicle is Special
Chevrolet introduced the 1986 Corvette models and included a long
awaited Convertible as an option for the first time since 1975. It
was also named as the Pace Car for the 70th Indy 500. GM designed
all convertibles to be Indy Pace Car Replicas and we have one here
at Skyway Classics.
Mechanical
Our Corvette has the standard L98 engine that had received an
upgrade with cylinder heads made of aluminum, reducing the car's
curb weight by 125 pounds and added 5 horsepower to the engine with
stainless steel headers and dual exhaust system also helping. The
transmission in ours is the automatic with floor mounted shifter in
the factory console. The engine sits in a factory fresh clean and
detailed engine compartment.
Interior
The bright red leather bucket seat interior has all the options you
need including power seats, power windows, air conditioning, wood
grin dash and console, AM/FM stereo radio with the Bose speaker
system. Very nicely detailed and well kept.
Exterior
The Pace Car has a great white paint scheme with the Indy 500 Pace
Car graphics on the sides, rear luggage rack, black convertible
top, custom mag wheels with black wall performance tire, and a dual
exhaust system.
Conclusion
The 1986 Corvette Indy 00 Pace Car Convertible is a great Corvette
to hit the streets with that has great performance too with 0-60
mph in 5.6 seconds and 0-100 mph in 14.9 seconds. It is again, a
great sports car package and a great Corvette convertibles to
cruise in.
