Overview:
Here is an absolutely beautiful 1946 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 60 Special 4dr sedan. It is a mostly original survivor with only 69K original miles. This is quite a spectacular car with a great history. Louis DuCommon, a wealthy San Franciscan businessman, ordered the car new. On October 4th, 1946 he sent his chauffeur, Mr. Lee to Detroit to take delivery of this car and drive it out to San Francisco. For the next 20 years, the car was chauffeur driven by Mr. Lee for Mr. DuCommon. The car was willed to Mr. Lee upon DuCommon's death in 1966. The car became Mr. Lee's most prized possession and he pampered it for the next 40 years. After Mr. Lee's death the car was sold out of the family to Bayard Guild, a car collector in Dover, Maine. Upon Guild's passing in 2007 the car went into storage and was purchased by the most recent collector, which brought the car back to California.
The car was truly kept in amazing condition through-out its life. It has about 75 percent all original paint still on the car and it looks fabulous. It was ordered in the most elegant color of black. The interior is 98 percent all original and looks outstanding. Inside the trunk and under the hood are still all original and very clean. The car has unbelievably low miles of only 69K original miles. As it has been a California car for most of its life that body is completely rust free. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer, more original '46 Cadillac Fleetwood anywhere!

Exterior:
This Cadillac has a very striking look. As I stated before it has about 75 percent original paint on the car. The items they did touch up over the years, matches excellent. There are few chips touched up here and there, a couple small thin spots but overall the paint condition is amazing for its age. The car was just detailed and shines like a diamond. As it has been a California car for most all of its life, it is completely rust free. The fit and finish is excellent with a super straight body. All the chrome and trim in excellent condition and mostly all original. It is sitting on its original wheels and hubcaps, which are excellent, wrapped in wide white wall tires that look great on the car.
Interior:
The interior looks absolutely amazing and is 98 percent all original right down to the original carpet. The only items that look to have been redone are the front arm rests. The remainder of the interior is in near mint condition. All the painted wood grain on the dash and door panels shows some patina but yet is excellent original condition. All the gauges and chrome on the interior shows wonderfully. It has an absolutely mint steering wheel and baked light knobs. The steering wheel even has its own cover to protect it from the sun. Everything works in the car except the clock and radio which both can be easliy restored. All of the glass in the car looks to be original and in excellent shape. It even has its original weather stripping that is still in decent shape. Inside the truck is very clean and original with all its original material, spare and tools.
Mechanically:
The car runs and drives excellent. It has its original 346ci V8 engine that is all stock and purrs like a kitten. It only has 69K pampered original miles and you can tell by driving the car. Under the hood is all stock, original and very clean. The fuel lines have been wrapped to prevent vapor locking in the heat. It truly runs and drives like a nice original low mileage car should. It is very quiet, tight and a pleasure to drive!
